FAQ and Booking Policy

WHAT IS HENNA OR JAGUA AND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM?

Henna is commonly used to refer to both the henna designs and the henna plant itself that is in the henna paste. Our henna paste is made up of a house recipe that is safe for all skin types and ages, using all natural ingredients. Jagua is a gel extracted from the Jagua fruit from the amazon, mixed with all natural and safe ingredients as well. Unlike Henna, Jagua is not recommended for anyone with a citrus allergy. With both options, we create henna designs as well as custom pieces for each client. To learn more about Henna or Jagua, check out our blog.

WHO CAN GET THIS SERVICE?

This art form is safe for people of all ages and skin types. If you have sensitive skin or any allergies, please notify us when booking your session. Jagua is a citrus fruit, so we recommend using natural henna if you have a citrus allergy.

WILL IT SHOW UP ON MY SKIN TONE?

YES! Natural henna and jagua show up on all skin tones. If you fear the natural henna will not show up or you prefer it to be a darker color, jagua is a great alternative. Be aware that white henna does not stain the skin, but that is also a good option if you want to the stain to last a short amount of time.

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK A SESSION?

For henna it’s recommended to book 2-3 days before your event, 1-2 days before for jagua. Both options develop darker with time, but there will be a stain visible at 24 hrs after removal. White henna can be done the day of the event or the day before but it does not stain the skin.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY DESIGN?

Great after care is vital to achieving a dark long-lasting stain! You can find after care tips on our blog.

WHY IS THE DESIGN DARKER IN SOME AREAS THAN OTHERS?

This is completely normal! Both henna and jagua stains develop darkest around the hands and the feet. The thicker the skin is, the darker the stain will be. Check out our blog for a visual aid to help you decide on where you want your design.

WILL YOU COPY A DESIGN FROM ANOTHER ARTIST?

We create custom designs, made to fit each individuals body perfectly, but can use other artists work as inspiration. For those looking to get a tattoo trial, then we will get as close as possible to your design. Overall, we do not guarantee exact replicas or copies, even if it’s one of our designs.

STAIN GUARANTEE POLICY

We guarantee that you will be getting the highest quality products, hand made in small batches to maintain freshness. Due to all of the ingredients used being a 100% natural, it makes it difficult to guarantee the same stain results for everyone. There are many elements that are factored in with the development of the stain, such as: PH levels, skin tones, location on body, body temperature, tanning, lotions and body oils..etc. We highly recommend following proper before and aftercare to allow the stain to develop properly. The instructions are available on the blog, and you are responsible for following them. Although we want every client to enjoy the darkest and longest-lasting stain, 50% of that depends on the aftercare.

The Haus of Henna is not held responsible or liable for stain color, intensity, or duration of stain. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
