faq/uses
What is white henna made up of?
White henna is made using body safe adhesive and body safe body paint.
Why is it called white henna?
The word “henna” has two meanings. It refers to the traditional henna designs as well as the natural henna plant that we make our paste from. Henna designs can be created using natural henna, jagua or white henna, in the same way that natural henna can be used to create non traditional or traditional designs. In this context “henna” refers to the style of designs created by the product.
Does henna come in other colors?
The short answer is no. The henna plant only makes one color, which is the burgundy/brown stain created from using the Natural Henna plant. We make our own henna paste in house and our ingredient list is available to all customers. Jagua is the only other all natural product available, and that creates a blue/black stain which is a natural alternative to black henna.
White henna is the only color we provide that isn’t natural, however it is safe for use on the body. We recommend contacting us if you have any questions or concerns.
Be very cautious of brands, retailers, salons, and henna artists who advertise red and black henna. Many toxic chemicals are added to produce those colors such as (PPD) in black henna, that cause a chemical reaction and create chemical burns on the individual.
Natural Henna and Jagua must be stored in freezing temperatures to remain fresh, and are defrosted before every appointment. The most obvious indication of the cone being unnatural and filled with preservatives and chemicals is how it is being stored. Avoid all henna stored on shelves in retail shops or online sellers that don’t mention freezing the product upon arrival.
